WEB SITE EVALUATION
(Astronomy Picture of the Day)
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html
I have decided to us the web site for Astronomy Picture of the Day, because it has many great aspects the first of which is that the stunning graphics are new and refreshing every day of the year so it never gets old no matter how many times you go to it.

This site is made up of one large picture and a small paragraph describing it. This means that most of the color scheme comes from the picture and so it changes every day. This makes the maintenance of this site very simple because all of the visual aspects are gained from uploading a single picture. This use of a single picture also provides the viewer with a very clean and uncluttered site that is not only very appealing but is also very easy to navigate.

The written information is short, about one paragraph which is a brief but right to the point description of the picture that is on view for the day. This information not only changes every day along with the picture but contains many hyper links to enhance the viewer’s enjoyment. All of these are small and in the paragraph right after anything of interest so that you understand exactly what they apply to and are easily accessible from your reading without having to hunt for them. These links take you directly to the new page of information without a run around, which is very nice especially if you are on a dial up connection.

Lastly, one of the very best things about this site is that there are absolutely no pop-ups or banners, in fact there is no advertising of any kind. All in all, this is one of the cleanest and most visually appealing sites that I have ever seen.
